NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is a cooperative accreditation program jointly initiated by major U.S. aerospace and defense contractors, the U.S. Department of Defense, SAE International, and other organizations. It is managed and operated by PRI (Performance Review Institute). Currently, approximately 80 aerospace prime contractors subscribe to and recognize NADCAP accreditation, with more than 2,000 suppliers worldwide having obtained certification.
NADCAP covers 12 major categories plus general requirements. Each category contains multiple sub-items (slash sheets), and organizations select their accreditation scope based on their actual business operations.

NADCAP accreditation adopts a hierarchical structure, from top to bottom:
AS9100 (Quality management system foundation)
└── AC7000 (NADCAP General Requirements)
└── Category-specific checklists (e.g., AC7102 Heat Treating)
└── Slash Sheets (e.g., AC7102/8 Pyrometry)
Important Note: Organizations do not obtain "a single NADCAP certificate." Instead, they select accreditation categories and sub-items based on their actual business scope. Accreditation is tied to specific facilities, specific equipment, and specific process scopes — it is not a company-level generic certification.
